My name is Peter Sneed. I am an Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the Grand Traverse Ophthalmology Clinic where I have practiced since 1994. I grew up on the shores of Lake Superior in Washburn, Wisconsin. After attending Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD where I played basketball and tennis, I received an M.D. from the University of South Dakota, completed an Ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital and a Fellowship in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
My wife Kris and I have four amazing children whom we raised in Leland where we still live. I have a passion for improving the health of our communities and believe that every individual plays a critical role in achieving the Quadruple Aim of Improved Patient Experience, Improved Outcomes, Decreased Cost and Increasing the joy of practicing medicine. Currently, I serve as the President of the Northern Physicians Organization CIN and have been on the NPO Board of Directors for many years. My world view is that EVERY individual is special, wonderfully and beautifully made by our Creator, and is of great value to our world. As a physician, my goal is to serve a leadership role in Northern Michigan so that together we will be a beacon and model of engaged healthy communities for the country and world to emulate.
