Laura Asiala is the Vice President, Public Affairs at PYXERA Global. Passionate about the power of business to solve-or help solve-the world’s most intransigent problems, she leads the efforts to attract more participation of businesses to contribute to the sustainable development, through their people and their work.

Ms. Asiala’s thirty year career in international business include roles in finance, marketing, business development, HR, branding, and communications, and corporate social responsibility. Prior to joining PYXERA Global, she was the Director of Corporate Communications and Corporate Citizenship for the Dow Corning Corporation where she led the development of the company’s international corporate volunteer corps.

In addition to her business experience, Ms. Asiala has significant experience in the not-for-profit sector as well. She is an active board member of Net Impact, a community of more than 80,000 student and professional leaders creating positive social and environmental change in the workplace around the world. She served on the organizing committee for the launch of IMPACT 2030, a private-sector led collaboration with the United Nations mobilizing corporate volunteers around the world. She serves on the Advisory board for Sustainable Entrepreneurship MBA at the University of Vermont.

She chaired the founding committee to establish the Bay County (Michigan) Habitat for Humanity Affiliate in 1991 and was the organization’s first president (1992-1995)—a strong and vital organization in the community. Active in education and the arts in her community, Laura actively participated on the boards of parent-teacher associations from elementary through high school and was the vice chair of the Bijou Orchestra. She was the 2008 Athena Award winner, bestowed on her by the Bay County Chamber of Commerce.
