Allison started Events North, a meeting and event planning agency, in 2008 after working for two of the largest event planning agencies in the world on the East Coast.
Michigan Meetings + Events Magazine inducted Allison into the Hall of Fame for Best Event Planner. In 2016, Beers was named to the 40 under 40 for Connect Magazine, a national magazine for meeting and event planners. For the last nine years, the Traverse City Business News named one of the 40 Most Influential Business People under 40.
Allison is a meeting and event planner by trade, but her passion is giving back to her community. Beers is currently on the board of directors for the The Downtown Development Authority, Rotary Charities, Impact 100 TC, The Downtown Traverse City Association (DTCA) and The Boom Boom Club. Beers has served on the boards of the National Cherry Festival Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan and The Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce.
An active and diehard Rotarian, she is thrilled to be the President Elect for the Rotary Club of Traverse City.
After losing her marbles during a lunch over someone’s lack of cell phone etiquette at the table, she launched, Put Your Phone Down, a business etiquette course that she has presented around the country.
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the person that will use you as an example and call you out if you get your phone out while she’s speaking, Allison Beers.
